As many of you know there are quite a few big hp Z's in the works right now. One of our problems is the stock 5-sp tranny (for those of us sticking with manuals) is that it is limited on the amount of power it can handle. Right now I am searching left and right for "affordable" alternatives. I think there is a possibility that the Borg Warner T56 tranny could work with the VG30DETT. The early model Z31's were running a Ford T5 tranny which may bear a close relation to the T56 tranny that is now run in the new Vetts and Vipers. The T56 is supposedly capable of holding 1000hp and twin turbo 850rwhp Vipers are running their stock tranny's from what I hear. Can you guys look around and see if this tranny can be used in our cars? If so, what shop has good pricing, service, etc, and possibly custom gearing.
